The Aki Jungyo arrived at the Ishikawa General Sports Center in Kanazawa
City today. Juryo Enhou, hailing from Kanazawa, engaged in vigorous
sparring sessions with Makuuchi rikishi and took on Yokozuna Houshouryuu in
butsukari-geiko . Beyond the keiko, he received enthusiastic cheers during
events such as children's sumo matches, a meet and greet, and a
demonstration of traditional sumo hairstyling; smiling, he remarked, "I
received so many words of encouragement from so many people—I am truly
grateful." Enhou, a former Makuuchi rikishi, suffered a severe spinal cord
injury during the Summer Tournament in May 2023, forcing him to sit out
seven consecutive tournaments. He made his comeback starting from the
Jonokuchi at the 2024 Nagoya Tournament and successfully returned to Jury
during this year's Summer Tournament. His previous appearance on the tour
in Kanazawa in August 2023 had been as a special participant while ranked
in Makushita. Reflecting on his triumphant return to Kanazawa after rising
to Juryo again, he said with deep emotion, "It is truly wonderful to be
back in Kanazawa as a sekitori after three years." Looking toward future
jungyo events in the city, he expressed his determination: "It has to be
Makuuchi. I want to work hard to climb even one rank higher so I can come
back at that level."

Mitsuhiko Fukao (41), ex-Akiseyama, appeared on the YouTube channel "Minami
no Gotchan-nel," hosted by fellow ex-rikishi ex- Tenkaihou. The duo took on
the all-you-can-eat challenge at the conveyor-belt sushi chain "Kappa
Sushi" (a 70-minute limit, with last orders taken 20 minutes before the
end). Minami introduced Fukao by saying, "When it comes to eating, there is
simply no one who can beat him." When Minami asked, "You appeared on the
show "Ariyoshi Zemi" and beat Gal Sone, didn't you?" Fukao smiled
sheepishly and replied, "No, I didn't actually win. It was a close match,
though..." Right from the start, the two ordered enough sushi to cover the
entire table with plates. While Minami ate the sushi one piece at a time
using chopsticks, Fukao grabbed two pieces at once with his fingers and
rapidly tossed them into his mouth. During the meal, Fukao shared anecdotes
about his massive physique, noting that he had already surpassed 100
kilograms by the fourth grade of elementary school. Forty minutes in, a
wide gap had opened up: Fukao had consumed 50 plates, while Minami had
eaten 16. Later, as Minami—nearing his limit—ordered pudding, Fukao happily
tucked into a bowl of ramen. Minami looked on in disbelief, remarking,
"Eating ramen after 50 plates of sushi is incredible..." Ultimately, Minami
finished with 20 plates, while Fukao consumed 56. While Minami looked
visibly strained and complained of being "absolutely stuffed," Fukao
appeared completely unfazed, saying, "That was delicious. It was just the
right amount, I wouldn't say I felt painfully full."
