Ozeki Kotozakura went makekoshi as early as day 11. In his tachiai against
Shoudai , he made chest contact and pushed forward with a right foot
inashi. However, his opponent countered from below, forcing him to retreat.
He was then attacked from behind and pushed out. In the shitakubeya, he
kept his eyes closed and did not answer questions from reporters. Finally,
he said, "I'm sorry." Kokonoe, the chief shinpan for the second half of
Makuuchi, urged him to improve, saying, "Whatever is wrong, in the next
tournament, he needs to thoroughly investigate the cause and work hard."
Kotozakura will be kadoban for the Nagoya  basho.
