 Gounoyama, ranked Maegashira 4W , defeated newly promoted Sekiwake
Kotoshouhou with a hikiotoshi, getting his kachikoshi.. He started strong,
stepping forward and using tsuppari, but was pushed back to the edge of the
dohyo. Nevertheless, he won in the end. After the match, he reflected, "I
need to be more assertive and move forward to win." Regarding the yusho
race, he said with a determined expression, "This is where it gets
important. If I let my guard down now, I won't grow at all," and looked
ahead, stating, "I want to win against the top-ranked rikishi."
