Best regards,
Gaijingai
Sorry these are all late. I had surgery earlier this week took up too much
of my time.

For of all sad words of tongue or pen,
The saddest are these:
It might have been.

Ozeki Kotozakura worked up a sweat on the 8th at his heya's lodging in
Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, in preparation for the Nagoya basho.. He had a
total of 10 bouts against stablemates Sekiwake Kotoshouhou and Kotoeihou
and Fujinokawa who came for degeiko.. Yesterday (7th), considering fatigue
and other factors, he did not have any sumo bouts and focused on basic
training. In the keiko session after a day off, he showed nimble movements
and said, "I've been practicing before that, so I was able to do it as
usual." In the previous basho, he withdrew from the 12th day due to lower
back pain, finishing with a record of 3 wins, 9 losses, and 3 absences. He
will be competing in the Nagoya tournament in kadoban status for the second
time in his career.

Sekiwake Kotoshouhou trained at home today- 11 bouts. He had five bouts
against his younger brother, Kotoeihou , and visiting rikishi Fujinokawa
and Juryo Nishikigi. After that, he faced Ozeki Kotozakura for six bouts,
for a total of 11 bouts. He showed good form against Kotozakura, going 3-3
with his powerful forward-moving sumo style, using his left hand to get a
good grip. However, regarding his left-handed attacks, which he has been
consciously working on, he said, "I still have a long way to go. I need to
attack more aggressively." Last year, he won his first yusho at the Nagoya
basho with a record of 13 wins and 2 losses. He became the first yusho
winner at the new venue, the IG Arena. Before that basho, he suffered a
hamstring injury in his right thigh, and was hardly able to train in the
days leading up to it, but this year he has been training steadily. Aiming
to win the Nagoya basho again, he said, "It's a completely different
tournament from last year's, so I want to challenge myself properly."
