Ozeki Kirishima had a total of 10 bouts against  Fujiryouga and Juryo
Tokihayate, who hails from Miyagi Prefecture, winning 8 and losing 2. He
also energetically adjusted his training by lending his chest to Makushita
Asahifuji in keiko. He said that he resumed doing actual sumo on the 9th,
and commented, "From here, I want to get my body back in shape, and once
I'm in better shape, I want to increase the number of bouts." During the
session, he was able to withstand his opponent's attacks, stay in the
dohyo, and attempt throws. He explained his aim, saying, "Recently, I've
been able to lend my chest out a lot, so I'm also focusing on staying in
the ring." Looking ahead to the Aki basho  where he will be challenging for
promotion to Yokozuna again, he said with a determined expression, "I'm
still stiff, and there are some things that aren't going well. It's okay to
lose (in practice), so I want to work hard on that."
