Sekiwake Kotonowaka did no do well against Kirishima, 1-5. He had 16 bouts
in all and was 9-7 (8-2 against the rest..) "I didn't have many bouts, but
what I did I did properly.. I was thankful to be called out by the Ozeki. I
felt I would do all I could. I will be facing tomorrow with the same
feeling, I guess.." he said. "I trained against opponents I'm not used to
training against, so naturally in some cases I couldn't do my own sumo. I
need to somehow do my own sumo in those cases as well. New year? Try to go
higher, as there still is where to go.." he said. He was promised the
Kotozakura name if he makes it to Ozeki. "There's the shikona thing, so
I'll be doing my best to achieve that. I will properly prepare myself and
aim for that.." he summed.
