He suffered a bone bruise to his right femur in his match against Fujiryouga on the 6th day of the Nagoya tournament and withdrew from the tournament from the 7th day. He revealed that he had not undergone surgery and said that he was "training with the intention of participating" in the Aki Basho. Currently, he is "mainly focusing on his upper body, and doing as much of his lower body training as he can." He has been back at the keiko-ba since the tournament ended, and said, "I can't wrestle right now, but I'm wearing my mawashi. I hope to be able to wrestle a little while after the banzuke is announced." He had achieved 9 wins in the Summer tournament and was confident going into the Nagoya tournament. Regarding the injury that came amidst all that, he said, "It was frustrating, but on the other hand, I was able to learn from it." He is steadily building up what he can do in preparation for the Autumn tournament.
<p style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(53,60,65);font-family:Inter,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,"Segoe UI",Roboto,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif,"Apple Color Emoji","Segoe UI Emoji","Segoe UI Symbol"">
