This coming off a 14-1 yusho in Juryo and a quick return to Makuuchi. He is handing in the retiring papers tomorrow and will leave the sumo world altogether, Japanese citizenship notwithstanding. He was dropped to Juryo after breaking some Covid regulation , but there also was a problem with his Oyakata. A drinking problem was discussed as well.. In any case, the heaviest sekitori is out of sumo.<div>He did not show up for the weigh-in yesterday, and that got me wondering what's up, as no injury was reported. He just didn't show up without permission. </div>
