He was looking very relaxed and happy during the training session. "It was spirited sumo. It was youthful sumo and i was able to do sumo positively. This last year was a rollercoaster (2 double digit wins in sanyaku, then three straight makekoshi). The first half was good but the second half was not. I am properly searching for the reasons within myself, and I hope the bad things won't repeat themselves this coming new year, making it a good year. The fact that ex-Kisenosato doesn't train with me anymore surely has its effect. There are advantages and disadvantages. Now that I'm on my own, I need to find out what my problem is and turn this into a learning experience. Although I'm the only sekitori at the heya and ranked higher, the guys in the heya have excellent individual skills and that results in good keiko. Even though it's sometimes one-sided, I try to attack and defend and hope to do as many bouts as I can and build up my body. I want this year to count, as I will soon be 32 years old. I want to remain in the yusho race till the final day of every basho. If I manage to stick with the leaders, the results will follow," he said.<br>
