The Kyokai announced on the 16th that Dekiyama Oyakata (44, affiliated with
Fujishima beya), ex- Makuuchi  Shoutenrou, has assumed the elder name
"Izutsu," effective that same day. Originally from Mongolia, the former
Shoutenrou acquired Japanese citizenship in August 2017. Following his
retirement in December of that year, he became Kasugayama Oyakata, and has
since held the elder names Kitajin, Nishikijima, and Dekiyama.
