The former Miyagino beya, where former Yokozuna Hakuhou served as oyakata,
has been officially dissolved. The Kyokai held a regular board meeting on
the 28th at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo and decided to terminate the
"custody" of the former Miyagino heya rikishi who are now affiliated with
Isegahama beya. From now on, all of them will officially and truly belong
to Isegahama beya. The explanation for the termination of custody released
by the Kyokai is as follows: "At the board meeting on February 23, 2024,
then-Oyakata Miyagino (Hakuhou) received disciplinary action for violating
his supervisory responsibility regarding violence by his disciples, failing
to report to the Kyokai, and obstructing the Kyokai's investigation. At the
same time, it was confirmed that Miyagino lacked the qualities and
awareness necessary to be a shisho, so all of the Miyagino beya rikishi
will be placed under the care of Isegahama beya, which belongs to the
Isegahama Ichimon, and Miyagino will be given guidance and education as a
shisho." "Subsequently, Miyagino submitted his resignation on June 9, 2025.
At the board meeting on June 2 of the same year, the board deliberated on
how to treat the deshi of Miyagino beya who were being cared for at
Isegahama beya. Although there was no precedent for a similar case in the
past, the board unanimously approved that, prioritizing the well-being of
the rikishi, they would continue to be cared for at Isegahama beya for the
time being. Furthermore, it was decided that if any Oyakata wishing to
guide and train the Miyagino beya rikishi in the future make an offer to
the Kyokai, the merits and form of such a request would be deliberated and
decided by the board, taking into account the circumstances at the time and
the thoughts of Isegahama Oyakata at that time."
"At today's board meeting, we decided to terminate Miyagino beya's custody
status of the rikishi currently under Isegahama beya's care, citing the
fact that more than two years have passed since they were placed under
Isegahama beya's care, and that one year has passed since their former
shisho Miyagino retired, and that no application to the board of directors
to revive Miyagino beya has been submitted to date. Therefore, all rikishi
formerly belonging to Miyagino beya will now officially belong to Isegahama
beya."
 And scene..
