Ikazuchishuu (18, Ikazuchi beya), ranked 72E in Sandanme defeated Kenshin
by uwatenage, securing his first victory in his highest career rank. He
started sumo after joining the stable, made his debut in March last year,
and has only had two tournaments with a makekoshi. He is a rapidly
improving hopeful of the heya, but he has also become a topic of
conversation due to his tank top tan lines. When the heya's X uploaded
photos of the rikishi on the 11th, his distinct tan lines stood out.
According to Ikazuchishuu, during the break after the Natsu basho in May,
he returned to his family home in Tokyo and went fishing with his father.
It was about seven hours from 7 a.m., but because it was a sunny day, he
was left with a tan line from his tank top that still hasn't disappeared.
When he returned to the heya, he was asked, "What the %$$#?", and it's
still there more than a month later. "It just won't go away. It's my
charming point." Incidentally, his family runs a fish shop, and on that day
they caught 30 to 40 horse mackerel, which they ate with the family.
Although he unexpectedly attracted attention, he vowed, "I'm staying
focused and practicing hard. (My goal is) to achieve a kachikoshi.."
