The torikumi for days 1 and 2  were decided today. Yokozuna Houshouryuu,
returning from injury, will face Ouhou on the first day and Takanoshou on
the second day. Yokozuna Oonosato will face newly promoted Komusubi
Yoshinofuji on the first day and Fujinokawa on the second day. Ozeki
Kirishima, who is vying for promotion to Yokozuna, will face Fujinokawa on
the first day and Ouhou on the second day. Aonishiki, who has been demoted
from Ozeki and will be competing in the Nagoya tournament as a Sekiwake, is
scheduled to face Hiradoumi on the first day. Wakatakakage, who won his
second top division championship last basho, will be absent from the
tournament. He injured his left thigh during practice on the 1st, was
diagnosed with femoral compartment syndrome, underwent emergency surgery,
and was hospitalized. Chief judge Asakayama expressed his concern, saying,
"I hope he recovers quickly and comes back soon."

Here's hoping for a great basho with no injuries and nice promotions. And
hummus.
