The Jungyo arrived in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture today, and
Fujinokawa the top-ranked  Maegashira, had the most bouts (17) during
asageiko. He worked up a sweat energetically, saying with conviction, "I'm
just thinking about moving forward. I'm just thinking about making contact,
and nothing else." He said he has been actively taking sumo bouts during
asageiko throughout the jungyo. "I'm doing it while keeping an eye on the
condition of my neck. If I've overtrained the day before and my neck is
strained, I do some fundamentals on the side of the dohyo ," he explained.
When asked if he would carry his own pillow to reduce the strain on his
neck, he smiled and replied, "That's true. My neck is bad, so I should
carry one. I'll consider it." He had a kachikoshi of 8 wins and 7 losses at
the Nagoya tournament and won his first Outstanding Performance Award. He
is likely to be promoted to Sanyaku in the autumn tournament. "I'm looking
forward to it. That's all I'm looking forward to," he said

Shoudai from Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, who is ranked East Maegashira
6, spoke about the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred on July 28th, almost a
month ago. He was in Tokyo when it happened and learned about it through
breaking news. He has been in contact with his family in Uto City, Kumamoto
Prefecture, where a seismic intensity of 6+ was observed, but he has not
yet returned home. "Of course I am worried. I am relieved that my family
was not injured." Regarding the damage, he has heard that the electricity
was out for an hour or two and the water supply was cut off. However, he
was cautious, saying, "Unless I see it with my own eyes, I can't really say
anything." He also said that he is not sure when he will return home. "I
think that if I go back now, I might just be causing them trouble. I think
they will say that they are fine if I contact them, but they are definitely
not fine." With consideration for the situation in the disaster area, he
said, "Maybe I should go back when everyone has more peace of mind... I
want to talk to the people around me." For now, he will focus on sumo . On
this day, he focused on basic exercises at the foot of the dohyo. "I'm
thinking about achieving good results in Aki." He also expressed his
feelings for his hometown, saying, "If there's anything I can do to help,
