On the 17th, the Kyokai held a celebration to mark the start of the Aki
Basho (beginning September 13th at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo) and
announced the main schedule before and after the tournament. On September
1st, a "workshop" keiko session for Oyakata and rikishi will be held at the
Kokugikan. This training session was originally scheduled for June 3rd but
was canceled due to a typhoon. The Yokozuna Deliberation Council's soken on
the 4th will not be open to the public. The main schedule is as follows:

▽August 31st = Banzuke announced

▽September 1st = Rikishi kai, Kyokai members training session

▽4th = Yokozuna Deliberation Council soken (not open to the public), new
recruits examination

▽11th = Torikumi making meeting, Nomi no Sukune Shrine annual festival

▽12th = Dohyo matsuri, yusho gaku presentation ceremony

▽13th = First day

▽27th = Final day

▽28th = Yokozuna Deliberation Council

▽30th = Kyushu tournament banzuke making meeting

▽October 1st = Sumo training school graduation ceremony, entrance ceremony

▽5th = Visit to Meiji Jingu Shrine, Yokozuna dohyo-iri, All Japan Rikishi
Championship Tournament
