Today, the Natsu jungyo arrived at the Shiroishi City Cultural and Sports
Activity Center White Cube in Miyagi Prefecture, and Ozeki Kirishima  did
some actual sumo. He had nine bouts with Tokihayate from Juryo  from Miyagi
Prefecture), winning 8 and losing 1. He also had one bout with Hakunofuji.
His sumo style, characterized by sharp tachiais and forward moving sumo,
was noticeable, and he has started to take things seriously just one week
after the start of the jungyo. "I thought it was about time to get
started," he said. Regarding his first keiko doing sumo in a while, he
said, "I felt tension in my body. I want to get back into shape from here."
As for having had 10 bouts, he looked ahead and said, "Well, there are
still some jungyo days to come, so I will take it gradually."

Yokozuna Oonosato began his serious training today as well. During the
practice session of the lower-ranked rikishi, he stood on the dohyo and did
some shiko while watching the matches. Afterwards, he practiced with
Anhibiki, ranked Makushita W 22, Ooyamada (the Stick), ranked at  Makushita
29E, Satorufuji

Makushita 46W, and Musubiyama, ranked Sandanme 60E, letting them come at
him at the tachiai and pushing them back for about 15 minutes. At the end,
he lent his chest to Musubiyama for some butsugari and gave him some tips.
Furthermore, he even faced Ryuuden from Juryo, and there was a moment when
he got dirt on his back. Regarding his own preparation, he said, "I want to
do it properly." Oonosato praised Musubiyama, saying, "I've been watching
him and I think he has something good. I think he'll get stronger once he
learns how to use his body properly." Musubiyama, who fought hard to keep
up with the Yokozuna, said, "I'm grateful. I'll do my best to repay the
favor." Musubiyama is from Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, and made his sumo debut in
the summer tournament of 2024. At the Nagoya tournament, he achieved his
highest rank to date, Sandanme 60E, with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses.
