[sumo] Audience Jerks Day 15

I watched the live (and this morning, the replay) of Day 15.

In the third row, behind the gyoji, are two western men who, during every match, are both recording the matches with their smartphone cameras. One of them was wearing a baseball jersey, so I would guess Americans.

How difficult and expensive is it to acquire ringside seats, much less on day 15? And instead of reveling in the spectacle just meters away, they’re instead annoying their neighbors with this foolishness.

This sadly has become routine at live events. The Chicago Symphony performs at Ravinia during the summer, and staff are flat out telling people to put their camera phones down. Other venues aren’t so fortunate.

Sad.
